Expanding the Mind. Nurturing the Spirit. Celebrating the Child.
St. Stephen's Nursery School was established in 1969, and has been providing a nurturing and joyful learning environment for the children of Ridgefield, CT for more than 50 years. We are a non-profit Episcopal preschool and we are licensed by the State of CT and members of the National Association of Episcopal Schools. Our large classrooms and small class sizes give children the space and individual attention they need to learn and grow.
Our classrooms are in North Hall of the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church campus, conveniently located on Main Street in the town of Ridgefield, CT. Families enjoy the central location and beautiful grounds of St. Stephen's Church, including our playground, the community garden, and historic church building with bells that ring everyday at noon. We also enjoy being part of the larger church community and school families are always welcome at church events.
Our mission at St. Stephen's Nursery School is to provide a safe, nurturing, and educationally rich preschool environment that fosters personal, social, cognitive, physical, creative and spiritual growth through developmentally appropriate activities. At St. Stephen's Nursery School, children develop a concept and love of God, in a manner that respects all faiths and backgrounds. Teachers provide models of respect and care, emphasizing kindness. Young children are aided to form friendships, develop self confidence, and discover the love of learning, which will prepare them for elementary school and beyond.
